FAQ

1. Question: Are you kidding me?
Answer: Nope. It’s all for sale. What you are buying is "the start of a brave new future filled with all your dreams can hold. Think truly to the future and make those dreams come true." It’s like buying a place with its contents and a life style beyond imagination. It is just that a lot of my contents are things to make art.

2. Question: Has anyone done this before?
Answer: I think there were a couple of people who sold their life – and all their stuff. But basically they were selling a traditional life or objects. I’m selling a dream of a different life and showing you how to do it.

3. Question: Are you a bogus artist?
Answer: Judge for yourself. Visit my web site at: http://www.streetcredibleart.com/ and/or my art blog at; http://www.whatartdidhemaketoday.com/

4. Question Why can’t I just go out and do this on my own?
Answer: You can. It’s easy. Please do. I’d love to hear from you after you do it. As Tom Bradley (a past mayor of Los Angeles) said, "The only thing that will stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you."

5. Question How do I see the place or get more information about the studio?
Answer: It is very simple: visit the blog (http://www.artistwriterretreat.blogspot.com/It will tell you everything you need to know about my studio (lots of photos). There is a contact person listed on the blog for showings.

6. Question: How does the 40 hours of guidance work?
Answer: Since you will have everything you will need to start work immediately I will come by and teach you to paint in the same way I learned to paint. (By the way I did not go to art school so don’t think you are going to get any kind of technical instruction) Also I will discuss anything you wish to discuss about selling your work. You can ask me any question and I will answer it to the best of my ability. If you wish to do this over the phone or via the Internet that will be fine also. Be aware that I will be leaving at some point for the east coast so we will need to come to some sort of agreement on a time frame.

7. Question: What else is included in the 40 hours of guidance?
Answer: I will also show you how to build and maintain your own artist web site and blog. Remember –you will be getting a computer, a good camera to photograph your work and a fine art, archival printer to create your own fine art prints.

8. Question: How much money can I make?
Answer: That’s up to you. How well do you paint? How hard do you want to work? Do you have any business experience? There are no guarantees. And if you want my opinion I will give it to you now. You probably won’t do well. But I will say I have managed to live here for almost ten great years. This is what Gail Devers said," "Understand to achieve anything requires faith and belief in yourself, vision, hard work, determination, and dedication. Remember all things are possible for those who believe."

I will say that there were times over the last eighteen years when it was tough and I didn’t think I would make it. Because of my age the only work I could get was one where I’d have to say, "Is that burger for here or to go?" So I found alternative ways to sell my art. And that is part of what I will explain to you.

9. Question: What about financing?
Answer: The transaction is handled just like the sale of any house or condo with the inclusion of certain contents in the contract. How you pay for it is up to you and financing is difficult.. But the contact person for the sale may be able to provide you with some help.

10. Question Are you flexible in the pricing?
Answer: It’s a firm price. A good life is worth every penny.

11. Question: What if I don’t want your junk or your idiotic guidance?
Answer: Donate it.

12. Question: What is Pacific Palisades like?
Answer: Pacific Palisades is on the border of Los Angeles with views of the ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains. It evokes for many the stereotypical California dream and affects a low-key, small-town vibe. The main commercial area is known as "the village," where most of the town's shops and restaurants are concentrated.

For lots of information about Pacific Palisades please visit Wikipedia’s page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pacific_Palisades,_Los_Angeles,_California
But don’t let the Wikipedia description be disconcerting to you.

13. Question: How come you have so many blogs?
Answer: Because the http://www.artistwriterretreat.blogspot.com/ gives you all kinds of information about the actual art studio. It would be too confusing to mix all the information into one site. This site is more about the artist life for sale.

14. Question: How long do I have to make up my mind?
Answer: As As Hillel the Elder who lived c.110BCE-10CE said… "And if not now, when?" I’m ready when you are .

15. Question: I can't buy the place but I absolutely love your art. How do I buy a piece?
Answer: Thank you very much for your appreciation of my art. It's easy. Select a piece. (I have more not shown on the web site or Blog) and contact me at: ArtistLifeForSale@gmail.com . I will quote you a price. (I am very reasonable - but time is money and it takes time to create art) You send me money. I send you the piece.
